Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Saturday, condoled with Katagum Emirate Council over the death of a famous hunter and private security expert, Alhaji Ali Kwara.
The governor delivered his condolence message to the council when he paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Faruk, at his palace shortly after participating in the funeral prayer of the deceased.
Governor Mohammed described the late Kwara as someone who made landmark achievements in the fight against criminal activities not only in Nigeria, but also across the globe.
According to a statement signed by the SSA, Media, to the governor, Muktar Gidado and made available to DAILY POST, the governor said the late famous hunter was well known for assisting security agencies in apprehending kidnappers, car snatchers and armed robbers.
“We came to the Katagum Emirate Council to convey the condolences of the government and people of Bauchi State over the lost of one of our illustrious sons of the state, Alhaji Ali Kwara.
“We believed this man deserved all the respect and honour and he has made us proud as a state.
“We have to show our grief and sadness over this loss. It is not the amount of money you will leave behind, but the way and manner you give support and make a society better,” the governor was quoted to have said.
Governor Mohammed, who said Ali Kwara is a household name in Nigeria for his fight against criminality, recalled how the deceased assisted him to secure the Federal Capital Territory against criminal activities when he (governor) was the FCT Minister.
He acknowledged the support of the deceased towards the maintenance of peace and security in the state, particularly in assisting security agencies in apprehending high-profile criminals, kidnappers and armed robbers.
Responding, the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Faruk thanked Governor Mohammed for participating fully in the funeral prayer of the deceased and extended his council’s condolences to the government and people of the state over the death.
DAILY POST reports that the renowned hunter and crime buster in northern Nigerian died on Friday in Abuja during a protracted illness.
The late Kwara left behind one wife and four children; Muhammad, Nadiya, Nasir and Abdulganiyu.
He was buried in his home town, Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where was born , on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
