The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, on Tuesday, presented a budget of 109.8 billion naira before the state House of Assembly for the 2021 fiscal year.
Presenting the budget theme: “Budget of Providence”, Oyetola said the budget was dedicated to Post COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
Oyetola stressed the need for an improvement in the state’s internally generated revenue as the 2020 budget was financed majorly with revenue from the federal government.
The budget is higher than the 82.2 billion naira 2020 budget signed by the governor in July.
He noted that the fact that bulk of government revenue for the year 2020 came from Federal Allocation highlighted the need to boost Internally Generated Revenue, IGR of the State.
The Speaker, State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye had earlier commended the state executive arm for making the 2020 budget live up to expectations, even in the face of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
