Suspected gunmen have abducted a lecturer and two children of a member of staff of the Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Secretary, Information and Protocol Unit of the polytechnic, Mr Abdullahi Shehu, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.
He revealed that the victims were kidnapped from their homes located within the institution.
He added that the father of the two abducted children who was injured by the gunmen is currently receiving treatment at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria.
The kidnapped lecturer is a lecturer at the School of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics of the polytechnic.
Confirming the abduction, Spokesman of Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said police operatives had been deployed to secure the area and track the perpetrators in order to rescue the victims.
