Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, on Tuesday, stormed the State House of Assembly in order to resolve some ongoing crucial issues that the members were said to be uncomfortable with.
This is barely 24 hours after recovering from the coronavirus.
The governor, it would be recalled, was represented by his Deputy, Ahmed Mohammed Ketso last week to present the 2021 budget after testing positive to COVID 19.
Bello drove himself alongside two of his friends in a Lexus car with the registration number KNT 700 KX into the assembly complex around 3 pm and left around 4 pm.
He spent over one hour with the legislatures in a closed-door meeting,
In an interview with journalists, Bello said he was in the House of Assembly to thank the members for showing concern and love during his days of isolation.
According to him, he used the opportunity to appeal to them for a quick passage of the 2021 budget as well as on how to enhance development of the state.
According to him, “Two weeks in isolation have taught me lessons, coronavirus is real, we need to be careful and I advise citizens to adhere strictly to all COVID 19 protocol. I also used the two weeks in isolation to reflect on the plans for 2021 and to seek forgiveness from God.”
He further stated that the meeting with the House was fruitful as both the executive and legislative arms have agreed to jointly embark on empowering people and support the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as a solution to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
