Kenya has lost a top kidney specialist, Dr. Anthony Omollo, to coronavirus.
Omollo, head of the renal unit, Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, died on Saturday.
The health facility is the biggest referral hospital in East Africa
Omollo was president, African Association of Nephrology and Deputy Director of the East African Kidney Institute.
COVID-19 has claimed at least 30 medical practitioners in Kenya, PANA reports.
Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council (KMPDU) confirmed the death of Omollo.
The country has recorded 1,360 fatalities and more than 76,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
