A healthcare intervention programme was on Tuesday launched for 15 communities in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State by a Non-Governmental Organisation, Prince Onyendozi Foundation.
The medical outreach according to Nnanyereugo Ike, the group’s founder is to offer special medical treatments at no cost to indigent people of the area suffering one ailment or the other.
Ike told journalists at a press briefing that the outreach will try to alleviate many health challenges for the people as it can and support others in accessing medical insurance.
“Presently, we are undertaking our 2020 medical outreach for the 15 communities of Orumba South. It is aimed at addressing the numerous health challenges of our people.
“Also during the medical outreach, the foundation has undertaken to enroll 40 persons from Orumba South LGA into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme (ASHIA) to enjoy free medicare for a period of one year,” he said.
Ike added that the foundation was also into talent hunt, and plans to harvest young talents from its 2020 football tournament for the council area.
“We have also written to several clubs and have received positive replies that they will send scouts to hunt for football talents from the communities when the tournament commences,” he said.
