The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has listed rules and regulations that corps members must abide by.
The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, dished out the rules while addressing the 2020 Batch B Stream IB prospective members at the Lagos and Ogun orientation camps.
Ibrahim cautioned them against night parties, lone movements and night travels.
The DG advised that they avoid boarding vehicles by the roadside and patronise only designated motor parks.
He insisted that approval must be obtained before trips, warning that defaulters would be sanctioned.
“Don’t violate NYSC laws. l urge you to take your security very seriously. Shun cultism, cybercrime, drug addiction and ethnic bigotry. You are to promote the unity, integration and peaceful co-existence of the country”, he said.
Ibrahim told the corps members to be conversant with the security agencies in their respective areas.
The General charged them to emulate their predecessors, who distinguished themselves in the fight against COVID-19 by producing facemasks, hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, among others.
He urged them to always observe COVID-19 safety protocols, execute projects that would add value to their host communities, and take part in the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
