As the second wave of Covid-19 virus infection ravages Nigeria, the death toll in Kwara State has risen to 31.
A Covid-19 Kwara update released in Ilorin by the government, on Tuesday, also announced 19 new confirmed cases.
Total number of confirmed cases is now put at 1245, with 11255 as total tests done.
One hundred and twenty active cases have so far in the State, while 1094 patients have been discharged.
According to the update, 9950 tests returned negative, while 60 tests are being awaited.
DAILY POST recalls that Dr Femi Oladiji, Chairman, state Medical Advisory Committee Covid-19, last week cautioned residents of the State on the spike in the spread of the virus.
He urged residents, to among other things, adhere strictly to preventive measures at all times to mitigate the spread of the virus, which he blamed on the non-challant attitude of many residents, non-adherence to preventive measures and influx of people from other states and overseas.
Oladiji said the second wave started early in November with sharp rise in the number of positive cases.
