President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has hit out at Nigerians over the rush to register for their National Identification Number (NIN).
Recall that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had directed telecommunications companies to block all unregistered SIM cards in the country in two weeks.
With a few days left until the deadline, the NIMC office was overrun by Nigerians looking to obtain their NIN.
However, Ahmaad who claims he registered his details in 2012, insists the federal government has been asking Nigerians to enrol for a long.
“For several years, the government has been urging Nigerians to enrol in the NIMC because of its importance, especially the National Identification Number (NIN).
“I enrolled in 2012, but unfortunately not many heeded the call.
“Just don’t know why Nigerians love last-minute thing,” he wrote
