Jigawa State Government has ordered civil servants from grade level 12 below to stay at home from Thursday, December 24, over the second wave of coronavirus.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar stated this while briefing newsmen in Government House, Dutse.
He said the directives follow the increasing number of covid-19 new cases recorded in the state and the order will last for initial period of two weeks.
He said the state has recorded one death and 47 new COVID-19 cases in the second wave of the pandemic.
“So far 12 person died and the total of 386 were recorded respectively during these period”
“We must institute measures to protect our dear state in conformity with national COVID-19 control guidelines of the Federal Government,” he said.
He, however, stated that personal hygiene, social distancing must be observed and facemask must be worn in offices and in other public places.
