Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on Wednesday blamed the spate of insecurity in Nigeria on politicians.
Governor Bello explained that the use of political thugs during elections was largely responsible for the insecurity in Nigeria.
The governor was reacting to the issue of banditry ravaging the Northern part of the country.
However, Bello while featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, warned that Nigeria can only be safe and secure when politicians stop using thugs and criminals during elections.
“When politicians stop the use of thugs, touts, or some group of criminals, that is when we will begin to have safety and security,” Bello said.
