A lady from Calabar, Cross River state has taken to social media to plead with Nigerians to stop sexualizing people from her state.
The plea is coming after a Twitter user identified as Olumurewa, took to the platform to share a photo and captioned it,
“Your 5-minute break is up, there’s still so much we haven’t done. I thought you said you were from Calabar.”
The Calabar lady who was apparently angered by the tweet, in reaction urged Nigerians to stop the habit of sexualizing people based on their state of origin.
In her words,
“Calabar, not sex machine. I can’t count how many times I’ve been sexualized unprovoked cos of where I’m from. It is the same for many others like myself. It has never been funny. Please stop.”
