The Lagos State government on Friday said about 30, 221 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the state.
Prof. Akin Abayomi, the state’s Commissioner for Health disclosed the figure in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle, NAN, reports.
Abayomi disclosed that 570 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in the state on December 30, 2020, increasing the state’s tally to 30,221.
The Commissioner also disclosed that a total of 219, 664 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state since the disease outbreak.
Abayomi said 2,901 COVID-19 patients who have been successfully treated and recovered were discharged from the state’s care centres.
“Total number of #COVID19 recovery in communities- 22,789.
“Cases currently under isolation-115, active cases under home-based care are 4,176,” he said.
He also disclosed that the state recorded three new COVID-19 related fatalities, increasing the number of deaths to 240.
Meanwhile, Nigeria has a total number of 86, 576 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Statistics by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, had revealed that the country currently has 1278 deaths from COVID-19
