A 36-year-old Nigerian mum, Oluwakemi Badare has been charged with murdering her four-year-old son in the UK.
Kemi allegedly drowned her son, Kingswealth Bayode in a bath which led to his death. The child was reportedly discovered “lifeless” on Sunday, December 27th.
The mother of the deceased is being held at Bronzefield Prison, and was represented by a lawyer for the 10-minute administrative hearing at the Old Bailey last week.
The court was told that emergency services were called to the address in Invermore Place on Sunday shortly before 8am, where the boy was found dead.
She was arrested at the scene and taken into custody before being charged. She subsequently appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody.
A post mortem has been carried out on the corpse of the boy, presiding Judge, Anthony Leonard QC listed the case for a plea hearing on March 17th.
