The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has lost another scholar, Prof. Duro Ajeyalemi.
He passed away three days after former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe died.
The university reportedly died of COVID-19 complications.
Ajeyalemi retired from UNILAG after he clocked 70 years in 2020.
He was former Dean of Student Affairs and immediate past Registrar, Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB).
Born November 7, 1950, Ajeyalemi had his primary education at the St Peter’s School, Ibokun (1956-61); secondary at LA Secondary Modern School, Ibokun (1962), and Kiriji Memorial College, Igbajo (1963-67).
The late don had his tertiary education at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (1970-72), UNILAG (1973-76), and postgraduate education at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK (1978-81).
Ajeyalemi began his career at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in 1968. He moved to Lever Brothers as a Management Trainee in 1977 and joined UNILAG as a Graduate Assistant in 1977-81.
He became an Associate Professor in 1989 and was appointed Professor of Curriculum Studies in 1992.
The deceased was a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (1984), and National Association for Research in Science Teaching, USA (1990).
