President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled the family of former Minister of Aviation and former Chief of Air Staff, Rtd Air Marshal Nsikak-Abasi Eduok.
DAILY POST reported that the Late Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok died on Wednesday at a hospital in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.
The late Air Marshal was the 12th Chief of Air Staff in Nigeria.
Air Marshal Eduok also served as Air Officer Commanding, Tactical Air Command, Makurdi.
The deceased also served as Honourable Minister for Aviation as a member of the Federal Executive Council in 1995.
In a condolence message by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Friday, Buhari described Eduok’s death as a huge loss to the nation.
”The President joins the military in mourning the passing of the highly decorated former officer, who spent more than two decades updating his pilot skills in the United Kingdom, and the United States who later returned to the country to share his experience with colleagues.
”Buhari commiserates with the government and people of Akwa Ibom, friends and associates of the deceased, affirming that he lived a life of service to the nation and humanity, with distinguished results in all endeavours.
“He prays for the repose of his soul and God’s comfort over the family,” the statement said.
