Hon. Sam Onuigbo, a two-term member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State, in the House of Representatives and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress, APC, has harped on the need for Igbo’s to rejig their political strategies.
The lawmaker said rather than continue sobbing about marginalization, the Igbo nation must play smart politics.
At an interactive session with newsmen on Sunday, Onuigbo said a Nigerian president of South-East origin is possible if Ndigbo collaborates with other geo-political zones.
The federal lawmaker insisted that Ndigbo must lay the ghost of marginalization to rest by re-strategizing and playing smart politics which will include collaborating with other tribes and aligning themselves properly to be able to progress and assume leadership at the centre.
On the new leadership of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo-led by Professor George Obiozor, Onuigbo expressed confidence in the elected national officers of the Igbo body, adding that they would protect the interest of Ndigbo.
“I believe the elected have the capacity and integrity to protect the interest of Ndigbo. So I wish them the best and they have my support”.
