Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has described Emeka Anyaoku as a rare breed Nigerian with an enviable national and international image.
Anyaoku was a former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and born in Obosi, Anambra State on January 18, 1933.
While felicitating with Anyaoku, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, Governor Uzodinma said the ex-Commonwealth Secretary-General, contributed immensely to the economic, social and political development of Nigeria.
“His contributions to the unity, peace and progress of the country cannot be under-estimated.
“I could recall that Chief Anyaoku’s career at the Commonwealth brought a lot of benefits, not just to Nigeria and Africa but to the Commonwealth countries and the global community.
“Nigeria is blessed to have the likes of Chief Anyaoku around and healthy, still contributing their quota to the betterment of the country”.
Senator Uzodinma prayed God to continue to grant the elder statesman good health so that he will live long enough to reap the fruits of his labour to the nation.
