Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku has taken to social media to address the stereotype surrounding the novel coronavirus disease.
She stated that people should not be scared to let people know they had or still have COVID-19 because it is not a family secret or a spiritual problem.
According to the actress who has battled the disease, telling people about it doesn’t reduce the victim’s recovery rate.
The actress wrote,
“Corona isn’t spiritual, it is beyond your village people.
So don’t be afraid to let people know you had or still have it.
Save lives!”

In October 2020, Jason Njoku, CEO of movie streaming platform, iRoko and his wife, Mary Remmy tested positive for the dreaded COVID-19.
The father of 3 took to Twitter to inform his fans about the new development. He said his wife, who is a Nollywood actress is asymptotic, but he isn’t doing very well.
According to him, he has no idea how he contracted the coronavirus but he believes they will come out victorious.
Jason shared of photo of him undergoing the test and wrote,
“My enemies are hard at work in 2020. Mrs Njoku and I tested positive for Covid19 Weary face. I’m not feeling great but Mary is well. Literally no idea how I caught it. Man shrugging. But we shall see this pass too”.
