The Osun State Government on Monday urged residents of the state to go for COVID-19 test to ascertain their status as the battle against the virus continues.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafius Isamotu, said this on Monday in Osogbo the state capital.
Isamotu who lamented the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the state and other parts of the country insisted that mass testing would help in curtailing the spread of the disease.
He expressed disappointment at those who, according to him, refuse to believe the reality of the virus stressing that the UK COVID-19 strain is deadlier.
The Commissioner charged people of the state to stop the spread of the virus by masking up and following all the COVID -19 guidelines and protocols.
Meanwhile, the state on Sunday recorded 21 fresh cases of the virus, bringing the total number of recorded infections in the state 1, 516.
