The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a security officer, Mgbechi Wekwea for allegedly abducting and raping a teenager at gun point.
The suspect who is said to be a 60-year-old security officer at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Rumulomeni, allegedly abducted and raped the 16-year-old girl.
It was learnt that Wekwea abducted and raped the young girl because the mother of the victim refused to marry him.
The human right group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign in a statement confirmed the arrest, and revealed the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Port Harcourt.

“Comrade Otobo Dennis,Prince Wiro, Comrade Barrister Jane James Esq with Mrs Edwin Kindness and the Sixteenth Year Old daughter who was allegedly abducted and defiled by a security personnel working in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in a group picture after a meeting with the DPO of Aluu Police Division yesterday.
“The suspect is to be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Port Harcourt on Friday”. The statement reads.
