The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji has expressed sadness over the passing of Ossy Prestige, a member representing Aba North/Aba South federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
DAILY POST reported that Ossy Prestige who was elected under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) platform, died after battling an undisclosed illness in Germany
Reps spokesperson, Benjamin Kalu, confirmed his death on Monday.
Speaking on the virtues of the late lawmaker in a condolence message made available to newsmen on Friday, in Umuahia, the Abia Speaker, Hon Orji described Prestige as a vibrant lawmaker who was well-loved by the people even across party lines.
The Speaker condoled Prestige’s family and the people of Aba North/Aba South over his unfortunate demise.
He, however, prayed to the Almighty God to grant the soul of the late lawmaker eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Also mourning the late lawmaker, the Deputy National Chairman Southern zone of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Uchenna Okogbuo, described the deceased as an astute and dogged politician who stood for the voiceless, adding that he will be greatly missed by the masses who he stood by.
According to the APGA Deputy National Chairman said, “on behalf of APGA Southern zone, and APGA family worldwide, I condole with the immediate family of Hon. Ossy Prestige, his Constituents, colleagues at the National Assembly, Abia State Government, APGA family and indeed his supporters over the demise of an astute cum dogged politician.
“Hon. Prestige provided exceptional representation to his Constituents. We cannot question his demise, rather as individuals, we can only pray that God grants him eternal rest as well as give his immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss posed by his demise”.MAY PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM…Amen!
