Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Tuesday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.
In attendance were Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, elders and prominent figures from the two states.
Former governors of Borno State, Ashiek Jarma and Senator Kashim Shettima, Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Al-Amin Elkanemi and Emir of Fika, Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa were present.
It was gathered that the meeting deliberated ways to sustain recent gains made by the military in the fight against Boko Haram in the Northeast.
It also discussed resettlement of internally displaced persons to communities and villages now safe.
The delegation also raised the rehabilitation and reconstruction of major federal roads in Borno and Yobe.
After the meeting, Zulum told reporters that the President assured the ongoing military offensive will continue.
Operation Tura Takai Bango started in January. The operation is being conducted with the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
