Sara Noemi Gaspani
The startling story has been told of a female jogger who was killed by dogs.
The woman died after her throat was ripped out and then partially eaten by a pack of dogs.
The body of the victim, named as Sara Noemi Gaspani, 58, was discovered followed the sickening attack in the Argentinian city of Benito Juarez.
She had been running in a suburban area of the city where three dogs were found eating part of her body, although investigators believe six dogs had taken part in the initial mauling on Boxing Day.
Sara’s autopsy suggests the dogs attacked her causing a “fast and traumatic” death from multiple bite wounds including the fatal blow to the throat by a particularly large mutt.
Authorities say that the dogs were being cared for by a woman who provides shelter to street dogs. They think the dogs were killed when the woman realised the shocking nature of their actions.
A judge granted a search warrant for the residence of the unnamed woman where they found several dogs had been recently poisoned and buried in the garden.
Authorities found other dogs still alive and living at the home. They took the canines, both living and dead, to determine their breed and characteristics about their bites or teeth to try and determine whether they were involved in the grisly killing.
The investigation is considering whether to issue manslaughter charges against the owner of the dog depending on their findings.
Sara is believed to have been exercising at the time of her death.
