Sensational Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko a.k.a Simi, has reacted after she was dragged for shading colleague, Davido, in her congratulatory tweet to Wizkid and Burna Boy.
Recall that international music stars, Wizkid and Burna Boy, won big at the just concluded 2021 Grammy Award ceremony. Following the news of their victory, Nigerian celebrities, including Simi, took to social media to congratulate them.
Simi tweeted, “Starboy and Burna
E definitely choke!!!”
Fans of the self acclaimed “Omo Baba Olowo” were infuriated at Simi for ending her tweet with Davido’s slang “E choke”. They went on to drag her for throwing jabs at Davido, some even threatened to stop listening to her music.
Reacting to the news, Simi reaffirmed her love for David and said she merely used the slang to congratulate the winners.
She tweeted,
“Loool ffs I LOVE Davido and I LOVE Wiz. I was just celebrating the winners and used the slang just as a slang.
A friend said i should remove it cos fans thought it was shade and so u did. It didn’t even occur to me at all. What would be the point of shading either of them?? To what end?”
