A viral video captured the moment Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s convoy was booed and pelted with water bottles by angry Lagosians.
The governor in company of his convoy was driving out of a shopping complex in Lagos on Tuesday, March 30th when bystanders started shouting and screaming ”Ole Ole”.
Although the reason for their action is unknown, the residents who appeared angry were also seen throwing bottles at the cars as security details surrounded the car conveying the governor.
Nigerian human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore shared the video on Twitter and captioned it, ”Heard this happened to @jidesanwoolu yesterday in Lagos. Nigerians booed Sanwoolu calling him a thief….”

Reacting to the viral video, a Twitter user @RaymondNnamdiO2 wrote,
“What do they expect? When everyone is jobless. Insecurity is on the increase. Most young people in Nigeria are on edge now… and these men are are driving the best cars untop the worst roads and environment”.
@ayanfebabalolola wrote, “Thank God for this generation and the generation to come. They can’t silence us anymore”.
