A 42-year-old Nigerian man identified as, Emeka Adams has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 27-year-old teacher in Ghana.
Emeka who is an unlicensed driver reportedly knocked down the young lady identified as Alice with his car, carried her from the accident scene to a bush where she died.
It was learnt that the suspect picked his victim from the accident scene under the pretext of taking her to a hospital for medical treatment but instead abandoned her in a bush.
The body of the victim was later found in the bush at Abokobi, and the case reported to the police who arrested the suspect on Wednesday, June 17th.
The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mrs Effia Tenge, confirming the incident revealed police intelligence led to the arrest of the suspect.
According to her, Emeka allegedly committed the crime at the Adentan-Dodowa traffic intersection at about 7 p.m. on June 7, 2021 while he was driving a Hyundai Sonata Saloon vehicle with registration number GB 2126-20.
Police has now retrieved the body and conveyed it to the Police Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation.
