Sunday Igboho
Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho is nowhere to be found following invasion and kidnap of his wife by suspected soldiers who invaded his house.
According to DAILY POST, a source close to his camp said that he had gone into hiding.
“He is no longer in Oyo State, I spoke with his people. Expectedly, they didn’t disclose the location.
“The federal government turned the heat on Igboho to stop the July 3 rally. This has been well established”, he said.
Igboho has cancelled the demonstration scheduled to hold in Lagos on Saturday.
The vocal agitator has been leading processions to demand the break out of the South-West from Nigeria.
Yoruba Nation rallies have already been held in other states in the region. It is believed Igboho eventually backed down to avoid arrest.
His fears reportedly heightened after Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was apprehended.
In the wee hours of Thursday, Nigerian forces stormed Igboho’s home in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria.
Igboho told BBC Pidgin that two people died and several others were still missing after the raid in the Soka area.
“I dey my house around 1:30am. I just hear gunshot for front of my house and shout say, we be DSS, we be soja, Sunday Igboho come out
“Wetin I dey do na to fight for my pipo, my rally dey peaceful. I fight for my family (Yoruba) becos Fulani bandits kill, rape dem. Goment refuse to do di right tin, dat na why I come out”, he said.
