Hollywood actor, Michael Kenneth Williams is dead. He died Monday afternoon at the age of 54.
The star was discovered dead in his Brooklyn penthouse residence, the New York Police confirmed.
Investigators reportedly found drug paraphernalia (suspected heroine) near his body.
His rep, Marianna Shafran said the family of the deceased wants privacy as they grieve.
Williams’ performance as Montrose Freeman in HBO’s Lovecraft Country earned him a 2021 Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series.
He featured in When They See Us as Bobby McCray and was best known for his role as Omar Little in The Wire.
Williams was Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire for which he won a SAG Award for best ensemble.
Born in Flatbush, his earliest roles in the 1990s include Bullet and Mugshot.
HBO in a statement said they were devastated to learn of the passing of “a member of the family for more than 20 years”.
