Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri has bemoaned the attitude of some Nigerians when public figures try to use their platforms to speak on national issues.
The actress in a post via her Insta-stories noted that instead of receiving applauds from Nigerians for speaking up, they get dragged instead.
She noted that what many Nigerians prefer to read about is bad or controversial reports about celebrities, and as a result concluded that Nigerians don’t deserve help.
In her words,
“How do you fight for people who don’t want to be fought for? How do you defend people who will tell you to rest after two post about you fighting their cause on social media.
The only thing they want to read about is how a celerity’s marriage ended. And how an actress is sleeping with a married man. Call a politician out and 10 other truth hating, benefit hungry clouts chasing celebrities will say #ISTANDWITH. Nigerians don’t deserve help, please don’t bother”.
