Lagos State Judicial Panel of inquiry into the October 20, 2020 shooting of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Tollgate has released full list of victims.
According to the list released by the panel of inquiry nine #EndSARS protesters were killed at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.
A report by PUNCH stated that the list of names was contained in the report submitted by the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS-related Abuses and Other Matters obtained by a PUNCH correspondent on Monday
The panel, in its 309-page report submitted to the governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu listed 48 names as casualties of the incident. Of the 48 causalities, 24 sustained gunshot injuries, while 15 others were assaulted by soldiers deployed to the Lekki tollgate.
The findings of the panel, also confirmed that officers and soldiers of 65 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, led by Lt. Col Bello, and men of the Nigeria Police Force shot and killed peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.
Meanwhile Popular comic actor, Ime Bishop aka Okon Lagos, has reacted to the report released by the Lagos state Panel of Inquiry into the October 20, 2020 shooting incident at the Lekki tollgate.
According to the recent report the Nigerian Army and police have been formally accused of the crime and the incident has been described as a ‘massacre.’
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had always insisted that no live bullets were used by security operatives and even went on a collision with CNN who at the time reported that several lives were lost during the protest on October 20 2020.
Okon Lagos in a post released said it must be a tough job to for Lai Mohammed to defend a ‘lie.’
