The family of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Jephthah Robert, has appealed to his kidnappers to release him unconditionally.
The family also asked the victim’s assailants to change in the interest of peace and progress of Bayelsa State.
The family made the appeal in a statement on Thursday signed on its behalf by Austin Ekeinde, the Head of Media Communications, Zeetin Engineering.
The company was founded by the victim’s younger brother, Azibaola Robert.
The statement read in part, “Our elder brother, Mr Jephthah Robert Yekorogha, was kidnapped around 8.40pm on Monday, 24th January 2022, in front of his house gate at Biogbolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, by four gunmen in black uniform, who at gunpoint, seized him in his car and forced him into their vehicle and zoomed off.
“We appeal to the abductors of our brother to immediately release him unconditionally, without harm, and turn a new leaf for the peace, security and prosperity of Bayelsa State.”
It stated that the incident was reported to security agencies shortly after it happened.
The family solicited the support of members of the public on any lead for the quick release of the victim.
