How did you meet your wife?
A friend of mine introduced us. At first, she turned down my invitation to dinner. She said she was wary of entertainers, after a while, she agreed to go out on a first date with me.
What event made your wedding day memorable?
I had no chairman for the wedding but my friends showered us with love throughout that day. Some of them came in from the USA and the UK. It was overwhelming support for me.
How has the marital journey been?
It has been a journey of five years and taking it together side by side has been helpful. We have had our ups and downs. There were times I thought it was over and times I prayed it wouldn’t end. But in all, we are truly thankful.
What has been the best part of your marriage so far?
Our compatibility as a couple and the blessing of our lovely kids. Also, we have developed a spiritual bond of our own and we laugh a lot. At home, my wife cracks me up easily; her playfulness helps us well.
What’s your advice to young people planning to marry?
Every marriage is particular to the couple so do not use anyone’s standard to rate your marriage. Challenges differ and nobody has all the answers. It is important to know that what works for one couple might destroy another. Also, give yourselves a chance to listen to each other.
