The Zone 1 Command of the Nigeria Police Force, on Monday, pledged to collaborate with the Kano State Hisbah Board and other relevant stakeholders to eradicate moral decadence among members of the society.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the zone, Sadik Bello, made the disclosure while receiving the Commander-General and the management staff of the Kano State Hisbah Board in his office.
According to him, the police are committed to the protection of lives and properties, adding that it would partner Hisbah in compliance with the mandate and objectives establishing the board so as to ensure that Kano retained its position as one of the most peaceful states in the country.
Abubakar described the visit as timely, pointing out that his doors were always open to receive Hisbah toward the development of the state.
The Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, Dr Harun Sina, said the team’s mission to the zone was to further strengthen the existing relationship between the two agencies.
He explained that the board was seeking the support and cooperation of the police in tackling family issues, divorce, parental neglect and drug abuse, among others.
Sina commended the Zone 1 police command for the warm reception accorded them, promising to work hard in achieving the desired objectives.
