The Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress in Gombe State, Moses Kyari, has said that its facility was tampered with by some identified youths.
Kyari, made this disclosure on Tuesday while debunking insinuations that it sponsored hoodlums to destroy items of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
He exonerated his party, saying it has no hand in destruction of PDP secretariat and campaign office in the state.
He revealed that their office was attacked earlier by those he said were identified by the Closed-Circuit Camera.
According to him, “There is a tiny line with what transpired, our own office was also burnt at about 12 midnight and as the act was been done we have footages of who carried out the attack.
“Their own office they claim was burnt around 2am by unknown people, possibly members of the PDP, but for us, we have video clips of who burnt our office and we have presented it to the police. The APC has no hand in the burning of their state secretariat.”
Briefing newsmen in Gombe, Aliyu Adamu, the National Coordinator, North-East Business Communities, Atiku for President 2023, described the incident as unfortunate.
Adamu said, “Hoodlums came here and vandalised our office, as you can see for yourself.”
However, he failed to estimate the cost of loss as a result of the attack, stressing that his principal, Atiku Abubakar, enjoys good relationship with key stakeholders in the state.
Speaking at a separate briefing, PDP Gombe State Chairman Major General Abner Kwaskebe (retd.), said investigation had began in authenticating the cause of the inferno, noting that they had commenced processes of lodging formal report.
