THE Akwa Ibom State Council of Ministers aka Soldiers of Faith, on Thursday, countered Governor Udom Emmanuel’s claims on his selection of Pastor Umo Eno as his preferred candidate for the 2023 governorship elections.
It asked him to withdraw his endorsement of the Commissioner for Lands for peace to reign.
The group stated that the governor’s claim that God revealed his successor to him is a “bare-faced lie,” adding that God is not the author of confusion or purveyor of crisis and disunity.
Emmanuel has on Sunday unveiled Eno as his preferred candidate for the 2023 governorship elections in the state at a meeting held at the Government House lodge, Uyo.
But speaking at a press conference in Uyo, the President of the Council, Apostle Joseph Nyong and Secretary, Apostle Elijah Usoh, said Emmanuel did not display equity and fairness in the purported endorsement.
The group lamented that former governor Obong Victor Attah, who spearheaded the endorsement was a product of the zoning system in 1999 and wondered why he allegedly connived with the governor to scuttle the same zoning arrangements that enthroned him as the governor.
