WATFORD manager, Roy Hodgson, says the team will miss the services of influential forward, Emmanuel Dennis, when they travel to face Burnley on Saturday.
The Nigeria international who is Watford’s goals and assists leader this season was sent off in the 78th minute of their 3-0 home loss to Norwich City last month.
Dennis has bagged eight goals and created six assists in in 19 appearances this term for the Hornets but new manager, Hodgson will be without him and Senegalese striker Ismaila Sarr who is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations for his first game in charge which he believes has given their opponent a huge head start.
“We could be in a better situation going into that game,” Hodgson told lancs.life. “To be without two of the goalscorers and top players at the club in Dennis and Sarr doesn’t help a great deal.
“On top of that, we’re going into it with me having come in eight or nine days ago meeting 23 new players. We’re not in the same situation Sean Dyche is in.”
Dennis is expected to return for the game against West Ham after serving his one-match suspension.
The Hornets will have the services of experienced centre-back William Troost-Ekong who returned to the club after Nigeria crashed out of the AFCON in the round of 16.
Troost-Ekong has made 16 appearances for the club this season.
