The Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mahdi Gusau, has described the state governor, Bello Mattawale, as someone who is full of false promises.
The deputy governor made the statement on Monday when the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, visited the state to consult with members of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Gusau, who declared that Matawalle has been making lots of promises, lamented that, “Most of the promises are false.”
He said, “When we were declared by the court as governor and deputy governor respectively, he (Matawalle) declared that he would never leave the PDP. But the promise has turned out to be false.
“He also declared that he would resign his appointment as a governor if not for the fear that I will take over.
“I told him that I would be ready to resign together with him, but up till now, he has not fulfilled his promise.”
He advised the governor to stop fighting the opposition, especially the PDP that brought him to power.
He also called on the governor to concentrate on the security of the state instead of wasting time and resources fighting the opposition.
