Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has inaugurated the state’s Road Safety Council in line with his administration’s commitment to protecting commuters and all other road users and prevent avoidable accidents across the state.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, the governor inaugurated the council chaired by his Chief of Staff, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, on Tuesday.
He wrote, “This morning, we inaugurated the Oyo State Road Safety Advisory Council led by our Chief of Staff, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi as the Chairman. Their role is to advise on measures our administration must adopt to keep road users safe in our dear state.”
He listed the council members to include Prof Daud Shangodoyin, Commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr Bode Ladipo, Commissioner for Health, Prof Oyelowo Oyewo (SAN), Commissioner for Justice, and Barr. Rahman Abiodun Abdul-Raheem, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology.
Others are Mr Akinola Ojo, Commissioner for Finance, Prof Musibau Babatunde, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Abiodun Oni, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs Uche Winifred Chukwurah (fsi), Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, and Engr. Victor Ogunranti, Representative of Nigerian Society of Engineers.
