No fewer than five people were injured in a lone auto accident that happened at the Kuje inter-change along the Abuja international airport road.
The accident, which happened on Friday, was said to have had a little child on board.
An eyewitness said the driver of the Toyota Corolla was at top speed.
He said, “What I saw was that the vehicle involved was speeding, I cannot say if the driver experienced brake failure or not. Suddenly we just saw it veered into the drainage around the area. In the vehicle were all female adults and a child. They were all seriously injured and were rushed to the Kuje General Hospital.”
The Federal Capital Territory sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Oga Ochi, also confirmed the accident.
He said, “A Toyota Corolla was involved in a lone accident.
“The crash that happened on that road was immediately after Kuje inter-change, five people were actually injured, that is five adult females and one child, female, and were carried to Kuje General Hospital.”
Meanwhile, a driver of a Kia Optima car cheated death after crashing his car into the popular Jabbi Lake while driving on the Alex Ekwueme Way, Abuja.
It was gathered that the driver was on top speed and veered off into the lake.
The accident led to a traffic jam in the area.
Ochi also confirmed the accident stating that the vehicle had been evacuated.
