Eleven passengers traveling from Edo State to Zaria were said to have been crushed to death in an auto accident at Mararaban Issah, Iddah ward of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Chairman, Kagarko LGA, Nasara Auza Rabo, who confirmed the incident said the accident occurred around 5.00am on Sunday.
Rabo said two of the passengers who sustained injuries during the accident later died in the hospital while receiving treatment.
According to him, the bus was heading to Zaria from Edo State when the accident happened.
He said the bus rammed into a stationary construction vehicle parked by the roadside.
He added that nine of the passengers were burnt beyond recognition.
The Council boss said, “The bodies were burnt beyond recognition and they are deposited in the mortuary pending when we find their families.”
