The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adamawa State Command, has paraded six suspected terrorists.
The state Corps Commander, Muhammed Maksha, during the parade in Yola, the state capital, on Tuesday, said the suspects were arrested by men of the Nigerian Army involved in the counter-insurgency operation in the North East, codenamed, Operation Hadin Kai.
Maksha said the suspects were handed over to the NSCDC for appropriate action.
He identified them as Muhammed Umar, 40; Abubakar Jabbi, 25; Usman Abubakar, 28; Abdullahi Dogo, 25; Suleiman Maman, 22; and Umaru Umaru, 19.
According to him, the suspects were believed to have terrorised people in Mubi, Hong and Gombi local government areas of the state.
He said, “They were arrested with sophisticated weapons and they have made useful confessional statements. After we conclude our investigation, they will be charged to court.”
The NSCDC boss disclosed that among the weapons recovered from the suspects were two AK-47 rifles, one locally-made AK-47 rifle, 40 rounds of live ammunition, and a chain used to tie their victims.
He said one of the suspects confirmed to have been jailed three times, adding that “this time around, the command will make sure all the suspects are tried under the terrorism law.”
