A group, Anap Foundation, has called on Nigerian youths to shun violence in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The President of the group, Mr Atedo Peterside, made this call in a statement on Tuesday, adding that youths should participate actively in politics.
He said, “Youths across the country should shun all sorts of violence and killings. The numerous killings of innocent citizens are not the solutions to youths’ aggressiveness for a better Nigeria; such should be channelled to the 2023 elections towards voting for credible candidates that would ensure their dreams and aspirations are attained.
“The youth, which consist over 60 per cent of the Nigerian voting populace, should endeavour to register and collect their voter’s card before June 2022 ahead of next year’s elections, as stipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, instead of being instigated by the old and discontented in the society.”
Peterside added that the Anap foundation would embark on a campaign to sensitise youths to elect visionary leaders.
