A missing woman, Isioma Iyele, has been reunited with her family after she was found around the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, Lagos State.
For five days, her children, the police and the Yaba Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, had engaged in a frantic search to locate her after she went missing at the hospital last Friday.
Emotions ran high as the children, who wept uncontrollably upon sighting their mother sitting by the roadside on Tuesday, discovered bruises on some parts of her body.
One of her children, Kuthumi, confirmed that she had been found.
“I have always told you guys that she’s not mad; she only forgets. My mum is found. Mummy don’t cry, we found you, we have been looking for you since Friday, we didn’t forget you.
“They found her at TBS; we found my mum, she is injured all over her body, see wetin Yaba Left do my mama. See my mum’s leg, her leg don swell up. They help her dye her leg. Yaba Psychiatric Hospital I swear to God, I no go forgive you all in that hospital,” Kuthumi said in a video clip he posted on the Internet.
Also confirming the development, the Managing Director of the psychiatric hospital, Olugbenga Owoeye, said, “We have found the victim. We said we were working with the family; she was found yesterday (Tuesday).”
PUNCH Metro had reported that Isioma, who was said to be suffering from dementia, was taken to the hospital to see a specialist for treatment.
Two psychiatrists assessed her condition and prescribed drugs for her.
One of her sons, who accompanied her to the hospital, then left her at the counter to pay for the drugs.
She was said to have vanished, as her family blamed the hospital for her disappearance.
