Founder and Senior Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has said that social media showed people’s true identity.
In a video of his sermon shared on his verified Instagram page on Saturday, the cleric advised his congregants to be mindful of what they post on social media.
He said, “Social media shows your true identity. Mind what you put there.
“Don’t just get excited that you go for one party and you put it there. They’ll say, ‘Okay, this is the kind of people he/she follows.’”
The cleris also noted that international organisations check social media background before employment.
Ibiyeomie said, “When you want to go for interviews at international organisations, they don’t ask you who you are. They go to your social media and check your profile.
“Then when you go for interviews, they just say that you aren’t qualified, even with your first class.
“Social media is the true you. They’ll just go back to five or six years and see the kind of things you used to write.
“They’ll say, ‘This person is very controversial. If we employ him here, he’d cause confusion.’ And you’ll be surprised, even after a good interview.
“No international organisation will interview you without your social media background.”
