The governor of Niger State, who was a member of the committee, in an unprecedented manner, on Monday, assumed the position of the acting chairman of the Caretaker Committee.
The chairman of the Elders Forum in the state and former military governor of Ogun and Rivers State, Group Capt. Sam Ewang (retd.), said the state is solidly behind the Abubakar Sani Bello-led leadership.
“On behalf of the Akwa Ibom State Elders Forum, I congratulate the acting chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee, who is the Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello. Akwa Ibom State is fully behind what you are doing. We applaud you and ask you to continue
“We accept the zoning of offices of the party. As elders of the party in Akwa Ibom State, we are looking forward to coming to Abuja to meet with your Committee,” he said.
