The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has ordered for security to be beefed up in the state.
The directive was given to all area commanders and Divisional Police Officers in the state.
This is following the suspension issued by the National Union of Road Transport Workers to the chairman of its Lagos chapter, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
CP Alabi, during an interview with Channels Television on Thursday, said a directive for the deployment of operatives to all motor parks across the country had been issued.
The police boss said the order was necessary to curb any violence that may arise in the state from the crisis rocking the NURTW.
Urging the area commanders and DPOs to maintain visibility in their area of coverage, CP Alabi assured Lagos residents of adequate security of life and property.
MC Oluomo was suspended over alleged misconduct, insubordination, and inciting members of the state chapter against the apex body.
