The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on behalf of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has heartily felicitated the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of his 61st birthday.
Buhari’s birthday message is contained in a statement signed on Friday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled ‘President Buhari sends birthday wishes to crown prince of Abu Dhabi at 61.’
Shehu said, “The President recognises His Highness’ steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s economic development, peace and stability, demonstrating compassion to the country’s humanitarian needs and lending a helping hand to deal with the impacts of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“President Buhari also salutes the leadership and visionary foresight of the Crown Prince which has brought economic development and prosperity to the people of United Arab Emirates, making the Middle East country an important voice and strategic player in the regional and international sphere.
“The President notes that His Highness is also reckoned globally to have worked tirelessly to promote religious tolerance and harmony.”
Buhari, who recounted that he has shared a number of special moments with the Crown Prince over the years, said the engagement has further strengthened the relations between Nigeria and UAE.
He wished the Crown Prince more years of health and happiness; praying for the progress of both countries.
