The Federal Government has inaugurated the construction of some housing units in Delta State.
According to the government, these units include 28 units of 2-bedroom bungalows, 16 units of 3-bedroom bungalows, 24 units in condominiums among others.
While inaugurating the housing units, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), represented by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola said, “We certainly cannot meet every one of those Nigerians in person, but our economic policies and investment in infrastructures such as this National Housing Programme and others will reach and positively impact many of them.
“Our desire and commitment towards improving the human condition and our message of change, have another facet beyond job creation.
“It responds to those who have long aspired to own a home, and that dream has come true with this project.”
He added that the building contracts were awarded in November, 2016 at a total cost of N736.97m and will rise to N1.2bn as a result of other contracts such as drainage, electricity and others.
