Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command on Friday and early Saturday killed four terrorists in two separate operations in the state.
The operatives also burnt down the terrorists’ camps in different locations and recovered 131 cows as well as 55 sheep earlier rustled by the terrorists.
The two operations were carried out at Malumfashi and Danmusa Local Government Areas of the state.
The command Spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the development during a press briefing at the police headquarters, Katsina on Saturday where corpses of the terrorists were displayed.
He explained that the police operatives carried out the first operation about 10.30 p.m on Friday after they received a distress call that terrorists in numbers, had attacked Yanmama village, Malumfashi Local Government Area and rustled seven cows.
He added, “The team succeeded in blocking the terrorists at Kanyar-Nogora, Kukar-Sheka village, Kankara Local Government Area and had a fierce gun duel with them. The team successfully repelled the terrorists. Three terrorists were neutralised and seven cows were recovered. ”
According to him, the operatives in another operation early Saturday morning, around 1.15 am, received a distress call that terrorists had attacked Tugu Gari village, Matazu Local Government Area and rustled an unspecified number of domestic animals.
The police team was said to have engaged the gang in a gun duel after which a terrorist was killed while 32 cows and 23 sheep were recovered.
